Jim Erlwein, a junior linebacker on the Massachusetts Maritime football team, has been named as the Buccaneer Athlete of the Week for his performance in last Saturday's 34-7 setback to Bridgewater State in the 30th Annual Ocean Spray Cranberry Bowl.

Erlwein, a native of Livingston Manor, N.Y. and a graduate of Sullivan High School, recorded 12 solo tackles and forced a fumble in the final contest of the season for the Buccaneers, as he finished the year with a team-high 83 total tackles, including 60 solo stops.  Erlwein, an all-NEFC Bogan Division selection as a sophomore, has earned a spot on the NEFC Defensive Weekly Honor Roll in each of the last three weeks.
