Strength and Conditioning Coach: Christopher Barry, ATC, LAT

Chris started his career at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in August 2007. He is responsible for the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for all varsity teams. To complement his duties as the strength and conditioning coach, Chris is also the Head Athletic Trainer. Therefore, his programs reflect the need for exercises that help reduce the incidence of injury, as well as improve athletic performance.

To accomplish these goals free weight training is emphasized. Olympic-style exercises are performed each workout to develop power and strength. Dumbbell training is also a priority to enhance one's athletic ability and coordination. Finally, trunk exercises are also performed with each workout to maximize a strong core.
