Massachusetts Maritime closed out its regular season non-conference slate last Saturday afternoon with a 34-23 setback to Endicott at Endicott Stadium in Beverly, Mass. Junior Douglas Dyke (Plainville, Mass.) rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown for Head Coach Jeremy Cameron's Buccaneers, while freshman Matthew Spinazzola (Melbourne, Fla.) completed 12-of-22 passes for 125 yards and a pair of scoring strikes to sophomore Kyle Rowe (Plymouth, Mass.) of 23 and four yards, respectively. Junior Jake Bickley (Wilbraham, Mass.) added a 22-yard field goal for the visitors, who were paced defensively by sophomore Mike Bois (Lakeville, Mass.) and senior captain Howard Hayes (Westport, Conn.), who each recorded nine total tackles. Massachusetts Maritime, 1-2 overall on the season, opens New England Football Conference Bogan Division play tomorrow afternoon when the Buccaneers entertain Worcester State in a divisional clash at Clean Harbors Stadium that kicks off at Noon EDT. Sophomore Mark Mullaney (Bridgewater, Mass.) made four saves in goal as Massachusetts Maritime opened Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference play with a tough 1-0 overtime setback to Salem State last Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field in Salem, Mass. Head Coach Greg Perry's Buccaneers, who stand at 3-2-1 on the young season, continue a four-match road trip tomorrow morning by heading to Framingham, Mass. to take on defending MASCAC champion Framingham State in a league clash that begins at 10:00 a.m. EDT. | |||

Freshman Suzanne Marino (Kings Park, N.Y.) chipped in with four digs in the setback for Head Coach Ashley Lorance's Buccaneers, as Massachusetts Maritime travels to North Adams, Mass. tomorrow afternoon for a Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference tri-match with MCLA and Worcester State that begins at Noon. | |||

Massachusetts Maritime placed 23rd of 37 teams competing at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational last Saturday afternoon in North Dartmouth, Mass., as Head Coach Chris Ryan's Buccaneers posted a team score of 700 points while placing 17th among Division III entrants and third among MASCAC competitors. Junior Patrick Dannaher (Arlington, Va.) was the top individual performer for Massachusetts Maritime, as he covered the five mile layout in a time of 26:56 that was good for 90th place. Junior Paul Matz (Plainville, Mass.) was next in 142nd place with a time of 27:55, while the trio of freshmen Aram Mulhern (Taunton, Mass.) and Chad McCarthy (Sutton, Mass.), along with senior Matt Sturgis (Cummaquid, Mass.), finished 165th, 166th and 167th, respectively, for the Buccaneers with times of 28:42, 28:43 and 28:44 on the day. Massachusetts Maritime travels to New London, Conn. tomorrow morning to compete at the Connecticut College Invitational that begins at 10:00 a.m. | |||

Massachusetts Maritime returns to action tomorrow morning when Head Coach Linda Letourneau's Buccaneers travel to New London, Conn. to participate in the Connecticut College Invitational that begins at 10:00 a.m. EDT. Massachusetts Maritime posted a fifth place finish at the prestigious Shields Trophy Regatta held last weekend at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., as the Buccaneers were led in the event by senior Philip Johnson, juniors Chris Morrow (Eugene, Ore.) and Devin Tetzlaff (Forestdale, Mass.) and Phillip Scott (Pocasset, Mass.) as well as sophomores Patrick Morrissey (Quincy, Mass.), Graham Philpot (Laconia, N.H.) and Jeffrey Gawrys (Marblehead, Mass.). Under the guidance of Director of Sailing Chuck Fontaine, Head Men's Coach Ian MacLeod and Co-Women's Head Coaches Davis Sanford and Casey Henchman, the Buccaneers also posted a fourth place team finish at the Hurricane Cup in Beverly, Mass. and performed well at the Tufts Freshman Symposium. Massachusetts Maritime will field squads in the Tufts Hood Trophy and New Hampshire Chris Loder Trophy this weekend. | |||
