NFL High School Player Development Camp

NFL High School Player Development Camp

MMA Head Football Coach Jeremy Cameron and his staff will host a NFL High School Player Development Camp from June 1 to June 5, 2008 on the Academy campus. The daily sessions will run from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Students entering their sophomore, junior or senior years are eligible. Campers must supply their own helmets and shoulder pads. There is no cost to attend the camp.

Sponsored by the National Football League, the High School Player Development camp (HSPD) provides incoming high school sophomores through seniors a program that focuses on character development and specific football skill training by position. Through HSPD, each participant will gain full awareness of what is necessary to become a successful collegiate student-athlete.

The program consists of two elements - character development and on-field training. The first day of the program commits coaches to discuss character issues in small group sessions for a 3-hour period as well as distribute student planners in order to assist players with time management. The other four days allow players to split time focusing on one offensive and one defensive position.
