McDonnell, Corr And White Named As Men's Soccer Tri-Captains For 2009 Season
Aug 17, 2009

Preparations for the 2009 edition of Massachusetts Maritime men?€™s soccer are set to begin later this week when Head Coach Greg Perry brings the Buccaneers together for pre-season practice, and the two-time MASCAC Coach of the Year has named his captains for his 17th campaign in Buzzards Bay.

Senior backs Matt McDonnell (Marshfield, Mass./Sacred Heart) and Chris Corr (Haverhill, Mass./Whittier Tech), along with junior back Jon White (Lynnfield, Mass./Lynnfield), will provide leadership for Massachusetts Maritime in the tri-captains role this fall. McDonnell earned second team all-MASCAC accolades in 2008 and started in all but two of the Buccaneers?€™ contests, while Corr lends additional valuable experience in the backfield, as he appeared in all 18 matches a year ago with 16 starts. White, who along with Corr earned all-MASCAC Academic honors for their work in the classroom last year, started all 18 matches for the Bucs, netting a goal on the offensive side as well.

Perry is set to welcome back 15 letterwinners this season for Massachusetts Maritime, which begins the 2009 campaign on Tuesday, September 1st by hosting Mount Ida in a non-league outing at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 6:00 p.m. EDT.
