The Buccaneer sailing team took seventh place over the October 4-5 weekend at the Hewitt Trophy Regatta hosted by the University of Southern Maine.

Ten teams competed in the event with Tufts University claiming the prize.

Saturday a 5-12 knot breeze out of the NW greeted the sailors, while on Sunday morning the wind remained light under sunny skies. By the time the teams took to the water Sunday the breeze had increased to 12 knots or more.

James Sjolund and Kevin Denien sailed to an eighth place finish for the Bucs in the A Division, with Rob Gallagher and Devin Tetzlaff finishing seventh in the B Division race.
