Bucs Finish 12th at Silfen Invitational

The Massachusetts Maritime Academy track teams traveled to Connecticut College in New London on Saturday, April 19 for the Silfen Track and Field Invitational. The Bucs finished 12th in a field of 13. Coast Guard won the men's event. Danielle MacPhee was the lone representative for the Lady Bucs finishing 13th in the long jump (12-3) and 26th in the 100-meter with a time of 15.99 seconds.

Freshman Rory O'Donnell delivered the top finish for the men taking fourth in the triple jump (41-1.5) and ninth in the high jump at 5-9.25. The 4x1 relay team of Bryan O'Donnell, Howard Hayes, Peter Tomdio and Joe Choiniere ran fifth at 45.74. Sophomore Jason McWhirter took sixth in the 3000 steeplechase posting a time of 11.41.24.

Bryan O'Donnell had a toss of 32-9.75 to claim 13th in the shot put. Tomdio ran 13th in the 200 at 23.90 and also took 13th in the 400 at 52.84. He was 15th in the long jump at 17-7.5.

Brian Reske was 23rd in the 800 at 2:12.36. Freshman Ryan Buchanio was 13th in the discus at 98-10 and freshman Brian Fuller came in 17th with a throw of 97-02. Choiniere was 18th in the 200 at 24.22 and 19th in the long jump at 17-1.25. Hayes ran 27th in the 200 at 24.89 and 23rd in the 100 at 12.38.
