Bio
Amanda brings a unique and diverse background to the Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Athletic Department. Before her career in athletic training, Amanda proudly served eight years in the United States Air Force as a member of Security Forces. She deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. She was part of an elite Fly Away Security Team (FAST), executing high-security missions throughout the Middle East and surrounding regions including Iraq, Yemen, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
Following her military service, Amanda continued to serve her community as a Call Firefighter and EMT-B for Hanson Fire Department, and later as a Field Training Officer and EMT-B with Brewster Ambulance. During this time, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from Bridgewater State University.
Amanda went on to complete her Master’s degree in Athletic Training at Merrimack College, where she served as a Graduate Assistant at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Her time at the Academy solidified her passion for collegiate athletics and confirmed her desire to return. She credits the supportive and family-like environment of the athletic department with playing a crucial role in her success as a student and in earning her national and state licensure as an athletic trainer.
In addition to her professional interests, Amanda has a strong background in bodybuilding and enjoys all aspects of fitness. She currently resides in Manomet (Plymouth) with her fiancé Dan, children Maddie and Greyson, and their dog Bailey. As a family, they enjoy fitness, beach days, and traveling together — making the most of both local adventures and time away to recharge, explore, and grow together.
