Worcester, Mass. — Second-seeded Oswego State freshman Ryan Enos (Oriskany, N.Y.) impressed by going 4-for-5 with one home-run, three RBIs and two runs scored in a 13-3 triumph over seventh-seeded Suffolk in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament at the Clark University Granger Athletic Complex.

The Lakers (27-12) advance in the winner's bracket and will play third-seeded Keystone tomorrow at 8 p.m. at Whitehouse Field in Harwich. The Rams (25-18) will try to stave off elimination against sixth-seeded Mitchell in a one o'clock matchup at Whitehouse Field.

Oswego State was also led by junior Mike Dellicarri (Congers, N.Y.) and senior Myles Kutscher (Glen Cove, N.Y.), who each blasted home runs. Dellicarri capped fifth inning rally with a grand-slam while Kutscher connected on a solo shot in the sixth.

SUNY Oswego went up 2-0 in the bottom of the second when senior Zach Whelan (Cortland, N.Y.) and Enos had consecutive solo RBI base-knocks.

Suffolk responded by knotting the score in the top of the third on a sacrifice fly by senior Seth Coiley (Arlington, Mass.) and a clean RBI single to centerfield by senior Greg Speliotis (Salem, Mass.).

The Lakers doubled up their opponents 4-2 and took the lead for good when Enos crushed a two-run homer for his fourth of the year in the very next frame.

SUNY Oswego broke the contest open with an eight-run, bottom of the fifth as they took advantage of several walks and a pair of infield miscues. The inning was highlighted by the team-leading seventh homer of the campaign by Dellicarri and a two-run single up the middle by Haylas.
