College notes: Sullivan West grad Erlwein named co-captain

Sullivan West graduate Jim Erlwein has been named co-captain of the football team at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. A defensive end, Erlwein made 60 solo and 23 assisted tackles last season.

He was named to the All-New England Football Conference Bogan Division team for the past two seasons.

The Buccaneers, with 40 letter-winners, opened their season on Sept. 3 with a 31-14 loss to New York Maritime in the Chowder Bowl. Erlwein was involved in five tackles.
