  • Bucs Place 79 on All-Academic, Five for Fourth Time

    The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Association announced its Spring All-Academic Team, and a whopping 79 Buccaneer athletes were listed. In total, cadets from eight sports were honored, with at least four men and four women in each. Men’s lacrosse claimed the most honorees, as 17 players were tabbed for the list.
  • Five Student-Athletes Named to MASCAC Sportsmanship Teams

    Five Massachusetts Maritime Academy players have been named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Spring Sportsmanship Teams. Nathan Anderson, Mikayla Correia, Joe Eastman, Michelle Sheehan, and Emily Bacciocchi all took home the prestigious honor.
  • Hunt, Rouette Honored as 2017-18 Athletes of the Year

    At the annual Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Senior Student-Athlete Award Night, Stephanie Hunt and Mick Rouette were announced as the 2017-18 Players of the Year after stellar four-year careers for the Buccaneers. Seven other awards were also given out as part of the evening.
  • Zaia Honored with NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award

    The Massachusetts Maritime Academy men’s lacrosse was shut out of All-New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference voting, but senior Nick Zaia concluded his career with a nice honor as he was named to the NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
  • Clutch-Shooting Ragge Sparks Incredible Season-Ending Comeback

    The Massachusetts Maritime Academy men’s lacrosse team stunned Emerson College with a fourth quarter comeback and Franklin Ragge gave the Buccaneers the win with a shot that hit the net a mere five seconds from the end of double overtime. The 10-9 victory in the season’s final game was the first NEWMAC win of the year for the Bucs.

    The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the 2018 Men's Lacrosse Academic All-Conference Team and three Massachusetts Maritime Academy players were honored. In total, Academic All-Conference Team totaled 35 student-athletes this year.

    A devastating fourth quarter attack by the Wheaton College men’s lacrosse team ensured a 10-6 win for the visitors against Massachusetts Maritime Academy after a thrilling first three quarters. The NEWMAC victory dropped the Buccaneers into the conference cellar with one game remaining.

    A spirited fourth quarter comeback fell short for the second time in three days and the middle minutes of the game continued to spell trouble for Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s men’s lacrosse team in a 16-10 NEWMAC defeat to Clark University. Trey Guerrini and Keaghan Bartley both netted two as a six-goal rally in the final stanza gave Buccaneer fans hope.

The Panthers’ defense sealed the win by ensuring only one of the six shots in the final 72 seconds made it on target on a cold and blustery Patriots’ Day afternoon.

    Tonight, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy men’s lacrosse team will take on local rivals UMass-Dartmouth, but a bigger battle is taking place off the field. Both the Buccaneers and Corsairs will wear gold laces to support the Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer program, which raises awareness for pediatric cancer.

Five different players scored for the Buccaneers, who are winless in a pair of conference contests and 4-3 on the season.

    Massachusetts Maritime Academy commenced NEWMAC play against a tough Babson College team and, after a close first half, finished with a 10-4 result that was a worthy improvement from previous seasons. Michael Sharry was a workhorse on face-offs and Cody Livermore scored a pair of goals for the Bucs.
  • Guerrini, Unterstein, and Gallagher Score First MMA Goals in 21-4 Win

    It took 10 minutes for the Buccaneers’ men’s lacrosse team to get firing on all cylinders, but once they did, the offensive attack was relentless and Massachusetts Maritime Academy steamrolled visiting Albertus Magnus College 21-4. Twelve different Bucs, including three youngies, scored for Head Coach Rick Bagby as the team improved to 4-1 on the season.

    After a scoreless first quarter at Anna Maria College, the Buccaneers’ men’s lacrosse team turned up the offensive firepower, hitting the net at least four times in each of the remaining quarters. Benjamin Avakian had his second-straight four-goal game as Mass Maritime improved to 3-1 with the 14-7 victory.

    Massachusetts Maritime Academy rode a relentless offensive attack against Salem State University to earn an 8-5 victory and improve to 2-1 on the season. Benjamin Avakian and Cody Livermore provided much of the fire as the former drilled home four goals, while the latter dished off four assists.

  • Men's Soccer, Men's Lacrosse Team Up To Support 2017 Mito Energy Walk & 5K

    Members of both the Massachusetts Maritime men’s soccer and men’s lacrosse teams joined together on September 17th to raise monies and awareness during the 13th Annual MitoAction Energy Walk & 5K presented by Stealth BioTherapeutics that took place at DCR’s Mother’s Rest in South Boston. Nearly $82,000 was raised at the event in support of continuing research in the battle against mitochondrial disease, an inherited chronic illness that can be present at birth or develop later in life and afflicts about 1 in every 4,000 people
  • Bagby Appointed As Massachusetts Maritime's Head Men's Lacrosse Coach

    Rick Bagby, who served for five seasons as an assistant coach at Babson College, has been named as Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Massachusetts Maritime. Bagby’s appointment, which is effective immediately, was confirmed earlier today by Buccaneer Director of Athletics Garin Veris.
