BRIDGEWATER, Mass. --  Sophomore Samantha Foley (Forestdale, Mass.) registered four kills and 12 digs as Massachusetts Maritime dropped a pair of 3-0 non-league decisions to both Worcester State and Plymouth State in first round play of the Bridgewater State Volleyball Halloween Classic Friday evening at the Tinsley Center.

Junior Victoria Presutti (Marshfield, Mass.) added four kills and two aces in the setbacks for the Buccaneers (0-24), who fell in the opener to the Lancers (15-14) by game scores of 25-10, 25-13 and 25-17 and in the nightcap to the Panthers (27-4) by game scores of 25-7, 25-9 and 25-8.  Junior Christine Egbert (Meadowbrook, Pa.) chipped in with 22 digs for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received 14 digs from freshman Suzanne Marino (Kings Park, N.Y.) and 11 set assists from freshman Leanne Talbot (Norton, Mass.).

The Buccaneers close out their 2009 slate on Saturday with second round action at the Bridgewater State Halloween Classic, as Massachusetts Maritime squares off with Framingham State at 10:00 a.m. before taking on host Bridgewater State at the Tinsley Center beginning at 2:00 p.m.
