NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Massachusetts Maritime volleyball team dropped a pair of 3-0 non-league decisions to host Coast Guard and Becker in a tri-match played Saturday afternoon at Roland Hall.
Junior Victoria Presutti (Marshfield, Mass.) registered 10 kills, eight digs and four service aces in the setbacks for the Buccaneers (0-20), who fell to the host Bears (19-3) by game scores of 25-3, 25-14 and 25-12 before falling to Becker's Hawks (9-12) by game scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-17.
Sophomore Samantha Foley (Forestdale, Mass.) added six kills and three aces for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received four kills each from junior Christine Egbert (Meadowbrook, Pa.) and freshman Suzanne Marino (Kings Park, N.Y.) as well as 17 set assists and four aces from freshman Leanne Talbot (Norton, Mass.).
The Buccaneers will be idle until next Saturday morning when Massachusetts Maritime hosts both Thomas and Worcester State in a non-league tri-match at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center that begins at 11:00 a.m.
