SALEM, Mass. -- Sophomore Brittany Roscoe (Lowell, Mass.) recorded 15 digs and seven service aces to lead Salem State to a 3-0 Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime Monday afternoon by game scores of 25-8, 25-14 and 25-8 in a league match played at Twohig Gymnasium.
Juniors Katie McKenna (Beverly, Mass.) and Rebecca Chapa (Westford, Mass.) combined for 12 kills and 21 digs in the win for the host Vikings (6-18, 1-1 MASCAC).
Junior Victoria Presutti (Marshfield, Mass.) registered three kills, two digs and a service ace in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (0-18, 0-6 MASCAC), who also received two kills, two digs and a service ace each from sophomore Samantha Foley (Forestdale, Mass.) and freshman Suzanne Marino (Kings Park, N.Y.). Freshman Laura Basile (Cambridge, Mass.) posted three digs for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received four set assists each from freshmen Leanne Talbot (Norton, Mass.) and Joanne Robery (Plainville, Mass.).
Massachusetts Maritime travels to New London, Conn. on Saturday morning for a non-league tri-match with host Coast Guard and Becker that begins at 11:00 a.m., while Salem State travels to Worcester, Mass. on Thursday evening for a Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference clash with Worcester State that begins at 7:00 p.m.
