BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Sophomores Kristen Koles (Billerica, Mass.) and Juliana Tyo (Pepperell, Mass.) each notched 17 kills to lead Worcester State to a pair of 3-0 non-league victories over Massachusetts Maritime and Thomas in a tri-match played Saturday afternoon at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center.

Freshman Jodi Hallett (Gill, Mass.) added 60 set assists in the two triumphs for the Lancers (13-14), who bested Thomas' Terriers (6-14) by scores of 25-5, 25-13 and 25-9 before topping the host Buccaneers (0-22) by scores of 25-5, 25-13 and 25-6).

Sophomore Heather Holmes (West Wareham, Mass.) registered 10 kills in the two contests for Thomas, which topped Massachusetts Maritime in four sets by scores of 25-20, 22-25, 25-18 and 26-24.  Junior Kristalynn Kidd (Plainfield, Conn.) added seven kills in the two outings for the Terriers.

Sophomore Samantha Foley (Forestdale, Mass.) collected six kills and five digs in the setbacks for the Buccaneers, who also received four kills each from juniors Victoria Presutti (Marshfield, Mass.) and Christine Egbert (Meadowbrook, Pa.) as well as three kills from freshman Suzanne Marino (Kings Park, N.Y.).  Freshman Leanne Talbot (Norton, Mass.) notched 24 set assists on the day as well for the hosts.

Massachusetts Maritime closes out the 2009 campaign next weekend by heading to Bridgewater, Mass. to participate in the two-day Bridgewater State Halloween Classic that begins Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., as the Buccaneers will meet Worcester State in first round action.  Thomas hosts Maine-Farmington in its regular season finale on Wednesday evening in a non-league match in Waterville, Maine at 7:00 p.m.
