DARTMOUTH, Mass -- The Buccaneers women's cross country team began their 2024 season on Saturday at UMass Dartmouth in a field of 45 teams. The Bucs took home a 43rd place finish in the varsity race, one spot ahead of fellow MASCAC opponent Fitchburg State.

Sophomore Grace Condinho was the top finished for the Bucs in the varsity race with a time of 24:12.36. Right on her tail was fellow sophomore Lorelei Lee in 290th with a time of 24:29.50. Freshman Lillian Luechever came in third for the Buccaneers in 307th at 25:27.13 and sophomore Massiel Leon was the fourth Maritimer across in 318th with a final time of 26:14.36.

In the junior varsity race, the Bucs had two runners, Sylvia Mattraw-Johnson and Allie Solari. Mattraw-Johnson finished 164th with a time of 28:15.86 and Solari came across in 170th at 31:20.91.

Maritime will host the 19th Annual Travis Fuller Invitational on Saturday, September 28th as part of Homecoming Weekend at the Academy.
