Pietrafesa Named to ABCA and D3Baseball.com All-Region Teams
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- This week, Buccaneers Baseball senior first baseman AJ Pietrafesa was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region 2nd Team and the D3Baseball.com Al-Region 3rd team after a stellar 2024 season.
AJ Batted .400 this season with a .497 on-base percentage. He compiled 56 hits, a new Buc Ball single-season program record, had a team-high 11 doubles, and five home runs.
Early in the season, AJ put together a 24-game hit streak that spanned back to the 2023 MASCAC Playoff tournament and at one point had an eight-game streak of two or more hits.
Defensively, Pietrafesa committed just two errors this season and finished 2024 with a .994 fielding percentage. He helped the Bucs turn 37 double plays this season and had 297 put outs in 327 total chances.
While this is AJ's first appearance(s) on an All-Region team, he was named to the All-MASCAC First Team earlier this month, which was his second All-MASCAC Honor having made the second team in 2023. In 2023, he was also named to the inaugural ABCA All-Defense Team, a team he will be in the conversation for again this season.
