Buccaneers Announce 2026 Hall of Fame Induction Class

The Massachusetts Maritime Academy Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the 2026 Hall of Fame Class. The Massachusetts Maritime Academy Department of Athletics created the Hall of Fame to honor former student-athletes, Academy staff, alumni, and supporters of Buccaneer Athletics who have made significant contributions to the department.

There are three categories for nomination into the Hall of Fame: the student-athletes category, the coaches, supporters, and administrators category, and the Legacy category. The 2026 Massachusetts Maritime Academy Hall of Fame Class is as follows:

Elaine Wallace, Benefactor

From South Boston and Teaticket, Massachusetts, Wallace was a devoted supporter of Buccaneer Athletics and the proud mother of two Academy graduates, Kathleen '00 and Mary Ellen '97. During her daughters' time at the Academy, and long after their graduation, Elaine remained deeply committed to Massachusetts Maritime Academy, generously donating both her time and financial support to Buccaneer Athletics. Members of the Maritime community remember Elaine as kind and warm-hearted, a familiar and welcoming presence at Academy events, whether athletic or campus-wide. Although Elaine passed away in 2023, her legacy endures through the Department of Athletics with the annual Elaine Wallace Award, presented to a senior student-athlete who exemplifies her unwavering dedication to Massachusetts Maritime Academy Athletics.

Stephanie Hunt, Student-Athlete | Women's Soccer & Lacrosse | 2014-2018

From Brookfield, CT, Hunt was a standout two-sport athlete for the Buccaneers, making her mark in both soccer and lacrosse. A MASCAC All-Conference selection in 2018 for the Bucs women's lacrosse team, Stephanie remains the program's all-time leader in points (248), goals (154), and assists (94). On the soccer field, she ranks second in program history in goals scored (20) and third in career points (45). Her exceptional accomplishments were capped off in 2018 when she was named Female Athlete of the Year.

Logan Sullo, Student-Athlete | Baseball | 2015-2018

From Acushnet, MA, Sullo was a four-year standout on the baseball diamond for Bob Corradi and Mike Kelley, rewriting the record books while collecting a host of accolades. Logan earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player of the Year honors in both 2015 and 2016 and was named the conference's Rookie of the Year in 2015. He also received All-MASCAC first-team recognition in 2015, 2016, and 2018. On the regional stage, Sullo was selected to the ABCA/Rawlings and NEIBA All-New England/Region teams in 2015 and 2016. A fixture in the Buccaneers' record books, he sits among the program's top five in numerous categories, including home runs (17), a mark that stood as the program record until 2024, and is the career-leader in hit by pitch with 26.

Kyle Johnston, Student-Athlete | Football | 2016-2019

From Bridgewater, MA, Johnston was a four-year member of the Buccaneers football program and a dominant presence on the Bucs defensive line, highlighted by an outstanding 2019 season. That year, he posted career highs in tackles (57), sacks (12), tackles for loss (19.5), and forced fumbles (3), leading the MASCAC in sacks and ranking tied for second in tackles for loss. His on-field performance earned him AFCA second-team All-American honors, making him the first Buccaneers football All-American since Will Linke in 1999. Johnston was also named to the New England Football Writers All-New England team that season and received All-MASCAC recognition twice during his career in 2018 and 2019. Capping off his senior year, he was named MASCAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for excellence both on the field and in the classroom and was selected as the Bucs Male Athlete of the Year.

Colin McCabe, Student-Athlete | Men's Track and Field & Football | 2017-2019

From Dartmouth, MA, McCabe was a standout two-sport athlete for the Buccaneers, excelling as a shot putter on the men's track and field team and as a defensive lineman on the football team alongside fellow Hall of Fame inductee Kyle Johnston. In track and field, Colin became the first All-American in program history in 2019, placing third at the NCAA National Meet in Geneva, Ohio, during his sophomore season. He set a Buccaneers program record with a throw of 17.37 meters to earn All-American honors and went on to capture shot put titles at both the MASCAC/New England Alliance meet and the Division III New England meet that spring. As a freshman, he placed eighth at the All-New England meet and fifth at the Division III All-New England meet.

On the football field, McCabe recorded 143 tackles over three seasons, along with 21 sacks and 35 tackles for loss. During a standout 2019 campaign for the Bucs defense, he posted career highs in tackles (60), sacks (9.5), and tackles for loss (15.5). Following the 2021 season, his accomplishments across both sports were recognized when he was named the Athletic Department's Male Athlete of the Year. After his junior football season, McCabe's remaining year and a half of eligibility was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Charlie Parnell, Legacy | Football | 1980-1983

From Marshfield, MA, Parnell was a four-year starter for the Buccaneers football team from 1980 to 1983. Charlie was a team captain in his senior season and earned All-New England Football Conference (NEFW) honors that year. During his four years under head coach and now fellow Hall of Famer Don Ruggeri, the Buccaneers went 27-10 overall. In the 1983 season, the Bucs went 8-2 and were NEFC Champions. During his time on the team, the Buccaneers had one of their best defenses in program history, allowing just 12 points per game over the four years. Charlie was widely regarded by his teammates and coaches as the glue that kept the defense together and exemplified what it means to be a Buccaneer on and off the field.

Director of Athletics Mike Kelley said of the class, "We are excited to induct this group of former Buccaneers into our Hall of Fame. They have all exemplified the true spirit of what it means to be a Buc on and off the field and accomplished so much in their time in Buzzards Bay."

More information and tickets for the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday, September 25th, 2026, will be available on our athletics website, mmabucs.com, at a later date.
