NORTH ADAMS, Mass -- The Buccaneers women's soccer team traveled to Western Mass on Sunday to play their second conference match of the season against the MCLA Trailblazers. With both teams looking for their first win in conference, the Trailblazers came away with the three points by the slimmest of margins dispite being outshot two and a half to one.

Maritime

How It Happened

It was a close matchup between the Bucs and Trailblazers in North Adams that saw the Bucs outshoot their hosts 12-7 in the first half. It was one of those seven shots for the Trailblazers in the first half that counted the most. In the 26th minute, DeMaio scored her fifth goal of the season on a pass from Hodge to give MCLA a 1-0 lead that they carried in to the half time break.

In the second half, Maritime's defense strengthened and their offense kept firing off shots, 14 in total in the second 45 minutes. Unable to find the back of the goal pas Amirian, the Buccaneers fell to MCLA in conference play by the final of 1-0.

Maritime will be back home for their next match on Wednesday, October 2nd at 7pm against Bay Path in non-conference play.
