Baseball Shutout by Dutchmen in First of two with LVC

FORT PIERCE, Fla – In 2018, the Buccaneers finished off their southern trip with a game against Lebanon Valley College which finished 17-14, in favor of the Dutchmen. This year, in the first of two meetings between the team, Lebanon Valley picked up where they left off against the Bucs in 2018 but, Maritime was unable to put any runs on the board, falling 15-0 to the Dutchmen.

How it Happened

For the first two innings, the teams remained knotted at zero. In the bottom of the third inning, LVC broke the game open brining three runs across. This was the start of a four inning scoring spree for the Dutchmen who then scored five more in the bottom of the fourth inning. With the Buccaneers unable to answer, Lebanon Valley added two runs in the bottom of the fifth and, in the bottom of the sixth, scored five runs in an inning for the second time in the game.

Now down 15, Maritime didn't allow another run the remainder of the game but, behind five hits, they were unable to get on the board, dropping the first game against LVC and second game of the day, 15-0.
