Bucs Fly Past Owls for Conference Win
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- Men's lacrosse played host to Keene State on Saturday in Little East Play. In 2025, the teams were 1-1 against each other, with the Buccaneers winning the regular-season matchup and the Owls knocking the Buccaneers out of the LEC tournament in New Hampshire. This time around, Maritime was dominant, beating the Owls handily, 16-7.

Maritime
- James Sullivan led all scorers with four goals in the win. Quinn Mucha and Daniel Kane had three goals apiece. Chilton Cabot scored twice, and Cole Jenkins, Jayson Kelleher, Seamus Buckley, and Kyle Shanahan all scored once.
- Ryan McDonough and Kane had three assists each. Mucha added two helpers, and Cabot, Sullivan, and Walker Groves each had one assist.

How It Happened
The Owls opened the scoring at 12:35 with a goal from Ansart. The Buccaneers went on to score three in a row, at 10:10 from Mucha, five seconds later off the faceoff from Jenkins, and at 8:26 from Cabot, to take a 3-1 lead. Keene scored one more at 7:30 of the first from Seymour. That was the final goal of the quarter, and the Bucs took a 3-2 lead to the second.
In the second, Keene tied the game at 3-3 a minute in on a goal from Dubiel. Maritime got goals from Buckley and Cabot at 9:57 and 6:33 to retake a two-goal lead, 5-3. Scala and Dubiel went on to score for the Owls and tied the game once again, this time at 5-5, with just under four minutes left in the half. At 2:01 of the second, Kane gave the Buccaneers the lead once again, this time for good, and the Bucs led at the half, 6-5.
To open the third, the Buccaneers scored three goals in less than a minute. Mucha scored at 12:23, followed by Shanahan at 11:43, and finally Sullivan at 11:34, giving the Bucs a 9-5 lead early in the third. Sullivan scored two more, running the scoring streak for the Bucs to six goals going back to the second, and it was the second and third in a row for Sullivan. The Bucs led 11-5 with six minutes left in the quarter. At 5:00, Keene got one back on a power-play goal from Tukey to make it 11-6. Mucha gave the Bucs one more goal at the 2:20 mark, and Maritime led the Owls at the end of the third quarter, 12-6.
The Bucs allowed only one goal from Keene in the fourth and scored four of their own. Kane scored 30 seconds into the fourth and 33 seconds later to make the score 14-6. Tukey scored at 13:26 to break up the goals from MAritime and made the score 14-7. The Buccaneers got two more goals at 12:35 and 11:27, giving them a 16-7 lead. Neither team scored in the final 11:27 of the game, and the Buccaneers earned the LEC victory over Keene, 16-7.
