Woods and Tully Win at Corsair Classic in Men's Opening Meet
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass -- In their first meet of the 2026 season, Bucs men's track & field put on a show at the Corsair Classic with multiple top-five finishes, several personal bests, and a new program record in the high jump.
Joey Tully was the winner in the high jump with a best mark of 1.98 meters. The event came down to a jump-off between Tully and a member of the Corsairs team, with Joey coming out on top and setting a new program record in the process.
Jorden Woods won the men's long jump event with a best jump of 6.16 meters, a mark he reached twice in his six attempts. Tully also jumped in the long jump and finished seventh overall with a best of 5.89 meters.
In the triple jump event, John Shields finished second overall with a best mark of 12.29 meters, a mark he reached twice in his six attempts.
In the track portion of the meet, Will Dalton came in sixth place in the men's 100-meter with a time of 1.37 seconds.
Robert Kenny finished in sixth place in the men's 10,000-meter event with a time of 36:39.05. The Buccaneers claimed four of the top 10 spots in the 10,000-meter run with Griffin Corrick finishing seventh, Emerson Dobrindt finishing ninth, and Sean Whittaker taking the 10th spot.
Maritime's 4x100 meter relay team, comprised of Woods, Dalton, Jamaric McZeal, and Johnny Carlson, came in fourth place with a time of 44.45 seconds.
In the 4x400 meter relay, William Browne, Gabe Fihlman, Cole Guiliani, and William Humphrey finished second overall with a time of 3:47.23.
In the javelin, Jay Smith finished in the top 10, in ninth place, with a best mark of 42.04 meters.
The Buccaneers travel to Fitchburg State on Saturday, April 4th, for the Jim Sheehan Invitational
