Maritime Closes Regular Season at Bonnie Edmundson Invite
WILLIMANTIC, Conn -- The Buccaneers competed in their final tuneup meet before the MASCAC Championships next week at the Eastern Connecticut hosted Bonnie Edmundson Invitational.
For the men, Robert Kenny, Griffin Corrick, and Sean Kenny finished third, fourth, and fifth in the men's 5k with respective times of 17:17.68, 18:18.11, and 20:23.30.
Joey Tully finished second overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.90 meters.
Jorden Woods came in second place in the long jump at 6.52 meters.
In the shot put, Joseph Hyman finished third, tossing a best of 12.98 meters. Thomas Frawley wasn't far behind Hyman in sixth with a best throw of 12.17 meters.
Frawley was top 10 in the discus, finishing eighth overall with a best mark of 37.35 meters.
In the javelin, Jackson Faith won the event, throwing 53.30 meters for the victory.
In sprints, Will Dalton finished eighth overall in the 400-meter dash with a finishing time of 51.68 seconds.
For the women, Danielle Danna finished seventh in the 1500-meter race with a time of 5:42.32, and Chloe Handlin finished seventh in the women's 5k with a time of 23:31.76.
Makynzi Sprague finished eighth overall in the shot put with a mark of 9.48 meters.
The Bucs 4x100-meter relay team of Sprague, Anna Pham, Jillian Mara, and Thamires Alves came in fifth overall with a time of 1:04.14.
Maritime is at the MASCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Fitchburg State next weekend to begin their run of postseason meets.
