Lee and Handlin Post Top-10 Finishes for Bucs at Sheehan Invite

FITCHBURG, Mass -- The Bucs women's track & field team competed at the Jim Sheehan Invitational on Saturday in Fitchburg. The Bucs finished 20th overall but received a handful of strong performances. 

Lorelei Lee picked up a sixth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 13:55.94. 

Chloe Handlin was eighth in the 5,000-meter race, finishing in 23:14.49

Makynzi Sprague competed in the discus throw, hammer throw, and shot put. In the shot put, she finished 16th overall with a 9.11-meter throw. In the hammer, she was 28th overall with a best throw of 24.93 meters, and she was 35th in the discus with a 19.96-meter toss. 

Other notable finishes belonged to Anna Pham and Maggie Doherty. Pham finished 29th in the 400-meter race with a time of 1:20.93, and was 49th in the 200-meter at 32.76 seconds. Doherty finished 44th in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 6:47.82.

The Bucs compete at the Regis Spring Classic and the Silfin Invitational at Connecticut College next Friday and Saturday.
