Bucs Compete in two-day Silfen Invite at Conn College
NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Maritime track and field took part in the Silfen Invitational at Connecticut College on Friday and Saturday.
For the women, Sydney Sawyer finished 14th in the discus with a toss of 25.63 meters and was 19th in the hammer throw with a throw of 29.07 meters.
Bridgette Boriolo was seventh in the long jump with a 4.48-meter jump.
On the men's side, Jamaric McZeal finished 10th in the 100-meter final in a field of 42 runners with a final time of 11.42 seconds. McZeal also finished seventh in the 200-meter final with a time of 22.85 seconds.
Collin Fine was the ninth-place finisher in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:08.93.
In the 110-meter hurdles, Brennan Shea finished sixth overall with a time of 16.35 seconds.
Spencer Reese won the 3000-meter steeple chase event with a time of 10:37.65, nearly 10 seconds better than the second-place finisher from Western Connecticut.
Tyler Fountain finished sixth in the javelin with a best throw of 44.36 meters.
In the men's high jump, Joseph Tully finished fifth at 1.75 meters.
