Sixteen Different Players Score as Bucs sink Vikings
SALEM, Mass -- The Bucs men's lacrosse team traveled to Salem on Tuesday evening for their penultimate regular season game in conference against the Vikings. When it was all said and done, the Buccaneers had 16 goal scorers and took down the Vikings by a final of 32-15.

Maritime
- Quinn Mucha led all scorers with five goals in the win. Cooper Barrett added four goals, and Daniel Kane, James Sullivan, Brendan Rosher, and Chilton Cabot scored three times. Liam Cogavin netted two goals, and Teddy Lynch, Jackson Dalmau, Cooper McIntire, Dominick Cataline, Brady Deschenes, Bennett Ewell, Eli Ikkela, Braeden Kosiewicz, and Cam McGettrick all scored one time.
- Kane recorded four assists in the game. Mucha added three helpers. Lynch and Joe Vricella had two assists, and Jake Pavlovich, Jacob Burnie, McIntire, Aidan Callahan, Ikkela, and Colby Smith all had one.
- Brian Rosher led all players in the game with 17 ground balls and won 25 of 32 faceoffs. Cole Jenkins pitched in on the faceoff, winning seven of the nine he took.
- Defensively, Callanahan caused a team-high two turnovers.

Salem
- Connor Vittands scored a team-high four goals in the loss. Fisher Gadbois and Grady Smith scored three goals apiece. Landon Rice added two scores, and Coleman Ballweg and Cameron Collins scored one.
- Collins and Joseph Turpin had three assists in the game. Jack Michaud had two helpers, and Rice, Gadbois, and Smith had one.
- Gabriel Laprade picked up a team-high six ground balls for the Vikings.
- On the faceoff, Payton Gabriel won six of the 27 he took in the loss.
- Defensively, Mack Trip and Laprade caused two turnovers to lead their team.
- In total, Salem picked up 38 ground balls, converted five of seven clearances, won 11 of 50 faceoffs, and took 30 shots in the game.
How It Happened
Salem took a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the game, and that was the last they saw of a lead in the game. Maritime followed that up with four straight goals in under two minutes. Kane, Barrett, Mucha, and McGettrick all scored from 12:52 to 11:01 to put the Bucs up 4-1. Salem got their second at 10:18 to make it a 4-2 game. Cabot and Sullivan went back-to-back to make it a 6-2 game, and Smith scored for Salem two minutes after Sullivan to cut the lead to three goals, 6-3. By the end of the first quarter, Maritime had scored five more times, the Vikings once, and Maritime led 11-4 after one quarter of play.
Salem scored the first two goals of the second to make the score 11-6, then the Bucs scored twice to open the lead back to seven, 13-6. Each team scored one more time in the quarter, and the Buccaneers led the Vikings 14-7 at halftime.
In the third, Salem outscored the Bucs 3-1 in the first four and a half minutes to cut the deficit to five goals, 15-10. In the last 10:21 of the third, Maritime went on an eight-goal run, opening the lead to 13 goals, 23-10.
The Bucs didn't stop scoring in the fourth, extending their unanswered streak to 10 goals less than two minutes into the final period, and led 25-10 with 13:10 left in regulation. Salem broke up the streak at 11:29 of the fourth, and then the Buccaneers tossed in five more goals, hitting the 30-goal mark, and led 30-11 with seven minutes to play. In the final six minutes of the game, Salem outscored the Bucs 4-2, including a goal with 16 seconds left. The Buccaneers went on to win the LEC game, 32-15, and officially clinched a berth in the LEC playoffs next week.
