In the bottom of the inning, the Bucs matched the two runs when Vieira singled to right field to drive in a run and another scored on an error. The score was tied, 2-2, after three.
Clark retook the lead in the fourth with two more runs. The first was on a Doran single and the second was when Sullivan reached on a fielder's choice. The Bucs got a run back in the bottom of the frame on Estrada's second home run of the season to make the score 4-3 after four.
Maritime kept Clark off the board in the fifth and then scored a run to tie the game again in the bottom of the inning when Cole scored on a wild pitch. The teams were knotted at 4-4 after five.
The Cougars took another lead in the top of the sixth on a Buccaneer miscue to make it 5-4. They added another run in the inning on another Doran hit and went up two runs again, 6-4. In the bottom of the inning, Clark had another wild pitch with a Buccaneer runner at third, Estrada, and he came in to score to cut the lead back to one run, 6-5.
Both teams went scoreless in the seventh and the Bucs kept the Cougars off the board in the top of the eighth. In the bottom of the eighth, Cole singled to drive in Weir and the game was once again tied, this time at 6-6 after eight innings.
Clark went down in order in the ninth and the Bucs threatened in the bottom of the inning, loading the bases with two outs. Unable to capitalize and win the game in regulation, the teams went to extras.
In the 10th, the Clark bats came alive for the first time since the sixth inning and they scored four times to take a 10-6 lead after nine and a half innings played.
