NEW LONDON, Conn -- The Buccaneers baseball team took a trip to the Coast Guard Academy on Tuesday to take on the Bears in non-conference play. The Bucs three-game winning streak comes to an end at the hand of the Bears by a final of 17-2.

Maritime

  • AJ Pietrafesa led the Bucs with two hits. Aidan WeirBrett VelzisJake Houston, and Brayden Ramsey recorded one.
  • Velzis and Houston drove in the Buc runs in the loss.
  • Weir and Houston scored the two runs. 
  • Houston hit his second home run in as many days, and Velzis recorded a double.
  • Weir stole a bag for the Buccaneers.

Coast Guard

  • Parker Madden and Kael Godshalk had three hits in the win for the Bears. Four other CGA hitters recorded two hits, and four had one hit.
  • Godshalk drove in three runs for the winners to lead his team.
  • Rick Barkley scored four times for the hosts.
  • Madden and Barkley each hit a home run, and Madden had two doubles in the game.
  • Luke Percifield stole a bag for the Bears.
