Women's Lacrosse Loses Conference Opener to Westfield

WESTFIELD, Mass -- The Bucs women's lacrosse team visited the Westfield State Owls on Friday night to open the conference portion of their schedule. A tough Owls squad got the best of the Buccaneers in a 17-3 game.

Maritime

  • Brady DeschampsLindsy Durgin, and Allie Dickinson were the goal-scorers for the Bucs. 
  • Karah Deveau tallied an assist in the loss.
  • Ally Reddish picked up a team-high three ground balls.

  • Kylie Buchanan scored a game-high four goals. Samantha Dyer and Natalie DeMaio scored three times. Emma Prattson and Mykenzie Black scored twice. Shea O'Brien, Mercedes Rozzi, and Willow Romo scored one.
  • Prattson tallied three assists, and Dyer and Arianna Andresen recorded two. Four other Owls had one assist. 
  • Dyer and Olivia Halda picked up three ground balls in the game to lead the Owls.
  • Dyer picked up a game-high five draw controls. 
  • Defensively, Demaio caused three turnovers.
  • In total, Westfield picked up 15 ground balls, were successful on 14-of-16 clearances, won 17 draw controls, and took 32 shots in the win.
