Bucs Win Senior Day Matchup Over Vikings
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- The Buccaneers took on the Salem State Vikings on Saturday evening in Buzzards Bay. On senior night for Lindsy Durgin, Allie Dickinson, and Caleigh Tompkins, the Bucs came back from a one-goal deficit in the fourth quarter to win their season finale, 5-4.

How It Happened
Salem scored the first two goals of the game at 10:48 and 10:14 of the first quarter to take a 2-0 lead. It took nearly 10 minutes, but the Buccaneers cut the deficit in half on a Hinds goal with 28 seconds left. The Vikings held their 2-1 lead into the second.
The Buccaneers scored two goals early in the third at 11:57 and 9:59 to tie the game and take the lead with goals from Durgin and Dickinson. 50 seconds later, Bennet scored for Salem, tying the game at 3-3. Neither team scored the rest of the first half, and the teams were tied at 3-3 at the break.
In the third, both teams went scoreless behind great defensive and goalkeeping performances. The Bucs and Vikings remained tied at threes heading to the fourth.
The Vikings scored 36 seconds into the fourth quarter to go up 4-3. Durgin scored her second of the game at 13:08 to tie the game again at 4-4. Just over six minutes later, Durgin scored again to give the Buccaneers the lead. In the final seven minutes, Rech and the Bucs defense held strong and closed out the game, earning the win, 5-4, over the Vikings.
