Football Set To Open 2011 Nine Game Schedule September 10th Against Western New England
The first day of August means only one thing—football season is right around the corner! Enthusiasm and excitement are building for the 2011 edition of Massachusetts Maritime Football, as Head Coach Jeremy Cameron’s Buccaneers return over 50 letterwinners and 15 starters from a squad that posted the program’s highest win total in 10 seasons last fall, including a 23-7 Cranberry Bowl victory over rival Bridgewater State to end the year as well as 23-16 triumph over rival Coast Guard last September.
Cameron’s crew will play a nine-game schedule during the 2011 season, which begins on Saturday, September 10th when Massachusetts Maritime hosts Western New England in a non-league clash at Clean Harbors Stadium that kicks off at Noon. The Buccaneers will be along the banks of the Cape Cod Canal for four of their first five contests this fall, including a Homecoming date with MIT on Saturday, September 17th as well as New England Football Conference Bogan Division match-ups with Framingham State (Saturday, October 1st) and Worcester State (Saturday, October 8th).
In between, Massachusetts Maritime hits the road on Saturday, September 24th for its Bogan Division opener with Coast Guard, and after a trip to Fitchburg State on Saturday, October 15th, the Buccaneers close out their regular season home slate on Saturday, October 22nd by entertaining Maine Maritime in the 39th Annual Admiral’s Cup clash at Clean Harbors Stadium. Cameron’s squad will venture to Westfield State on Saturday, October 29th before heading to Bridgewater State on Saturday, November 5th looking to keep The Scoop in the 33rd Annual Cranberry Bowl with Bridgewater State.
