BUZZARDS BAY, Mass.-- Freshman Sean Szczesny's (Whitman, Mass.) goal with 7:11 remaining lifted Massachusetts Maritime to a 3-2 non-league college men's soccer victory over UMass Dartmouth Thursday evening at Commander Ellis Field.

Szczesny converted passes from senior Matt Duggan (Worcester, Mass.) and freshman Kevin McCord (Norwell, Mass.) for his first collegiate marker to give the host Buccaneers (4-9-2) the triumph and extend their unbeaten streak to two straight, as Massachusetts Maritime grabbed a 1-0 edge at the break when sophomore Jon White (Lynnfield, Mass.) netted his first goal of the season on a direct kick from 35 yards out just 4:06 before intermission. Sophomore Paul Marcov (Milford, Mass.) evened matters for the visiting Corsairs (7-6) in the 56th minute with an unassisted tally (his first of the year), but freshman Josh Hoy (Camp Hill, Pa.) gave the Buccaneers the lead again just 3:47 later when he converted a Szczesny feed for his third goal of the season in the 59th minute. Junior Jarred Goldstein (Weymouth, Mass.) again tied things for UMass Dartmouth by converting a direct kick from 20 yards out in the 66th minute of action for his third tally of the season, setting up Szczesny's heroics in the closing minutes.

Senior Tim Meighan (East Bridgewater, Mass.) notched his second win of the season in goal for Massachusetts Maritime with a five-save effort, while junior Rich Covell (Plymouth, Mass.) also made five stops in net for UMass Dartmouth as each team had 12 shots on goal for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Fitchburg State in a MASCAC outing on Saturday afternoon at Commander Ellis Field beginning at Noon, while UMass Dartmouth hosts Keene State in a Little East match on Saturday afternoon in North Dartmouth, Mass. beginning at 1:00.
