BOSTON, Mass.-- Senior Ian Downing's (Skowhegan, Maine) goal with 4:56 remaining in the second overtime lifted Wentworth to a 2-1 non-league college men's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Monday evening at Sweeney Field.

Downing converted a feed from freshman John Geleski (Wayne, N.J.) on the game-winner for the host Leopards (1-2-1) for his first tally of the season after the teams had battled to a 1-1 draw through regulation. Sophomore Christian Lopes (Charlestown, Mass.) had given the visiting Buccaneers (0-3) a 1-0 edge at the 51:18 mark with his second goal of the season, but sophomore Ben Nasman (Lenox, Mass.) converted a pass from his senior brother Kyle just 12 seconds later to even matters for Wentworth, setting up Downing's heroics in the second extra session.

Sophomore Brian Pearsall (Sanford, Maine) picked up the win in goal for the Leopards with a four-save effort, while senior Tim Meighan (East Bridgewater, Mass.) made seven stops in net for Massachusetts Maritime as Wentworth outshot the Buccaneers by a 24-15 margin for the match.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Becker in a non-league outing on Wednesday evening at Commander Ellis Field beginning at 6:30 p.m., while Wentworth heads to Worcester, Mass. on Wednesday evening to take on WPI in a non-league match that begins at 7:00 p.m.
