Men's Soccer To Play 16 Contests During Perry's 19th Season, Buccaneers Open Campaign With Rival Coast Guard On September 2nd
The Massachusetts Maritime men’s soccer team finished the 2010 season on a strong note, defeating rival Bridgewater State for the first time in 19 years while playing to a strong 1-1 double overtime tie with eventual MASCAC tournament champion Salem State. The Buccaneers are looking to continue that momentum into the 2011 campaign under veteran Head Coach Greg Perry, who welcomes back 18 letterwinners and six starters from that seven-win squad.
Massachusetts Maritime begins Perry’s 19th season at the helm on Friday, September 2nd when the Buccaneers entertain rival Coast Guard under the lights at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 6:00 p.m. Massachusetts Maritime will play three additional non-conference matches before opening MASCAC play on Saturday, September 17th at Framingham State, and the Buccaneers will play a total of six home contests, including conference clashes with MCLA (Saturday, October 1st), Worcester State (Saturday, October 15th) and Bridgewater State (Friday, October 21st).
