Twenty-four teams participated Saturday and Sunday, September 27 and 28 in the Hood Trophy Regatta held on Mystic Lake at Tufts University. In a slight breeze and moderate rain three A Division and two B Division races were sailed in a 2-4 knot northerly.

Back on the water Sunday, the teams were met with more rain and a glassy lake surface. By mid afternoon a 2-5 knot northerly held long enough to get one B Division race off.

Yale University took the Hood Trophy followed by Salve Regina. The Massachusetts Maritime Buccaneers finished 14th overall in the field of 24 competing schools.

In the A Division race skipper George Fleischfresser and crew Samuel Sherwood sailed to an 18th place finish, while skipper James Sjolund and crew Bailey Gingras finished 11th in the B Division competition.
