Buccaneers Sail To Victory At Last Chance Regatta
Oct 6, 2008

The Massachusetts Maritime sailing team finished first in the Last Chance Regatta held Saturday, October 4 at the Low Tide Yacht Club in New Bedford, Mass.

The Buccaneers were the last boat to start the 16.8 mile race over a course that saw 40 degree wind shifts and wind speeds that varied between 10-15 knots, as handicaps dictated the starting position. Onboard the Dejavu, MMA skipper Rob Fritzen successfully defended last year's Last Chance Regatta victory.

Charlie Baum handled navigation and tactics for the Bucs, with a crew of Philip Scott (bow), Mitchell Menard (mast), Mike Powers (pit), Jarred Crosby (trim), Chris Morrow (trim), Christina Colarusso (grind), Hannah Leight (runner ease), Eric Pattison (runner trim) and Max Weinrab (sewer).
