Massachusetts Maritime Academy won the prestigious Strom Trysail Club Intercollegiate Regatta at Larchmont, N.Y. over the Columbus Day Weekend.

The cadets won the J-109 Class on Storm owned by Rick Lyall (Class of '78)and a MMA Foundation Trustee. The cadets were second in the J-120 class. The combination of the two scores placed the Bucs in first overall.

The Columbus Day Weekend victory was the first for the Buccaneers as they topped a list of 26 schools that included; Army, California Maritime, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Michigan, U.S. Naval Academy, New York Maritime, Tufts and Georgetown.

MMA was led by George Fleishresser, Mitchell Menard, Charlie Baum, Rob Frizen, Frank Hennigan, Ian Fraser, Kevin Deneen, Samuel Sherwood and Brian Kirwood. The Bucs also had key input from Marc Pottey, Christopher Morrow, Phil Scott, Patrick Ryan, Andrew Devine, George Anderson, Ryan Lotti and Matthew Morrissey.
