Buccaneers Swept by Trailblazers in Road Conference Doubleheader
NORTH ADAMS, Mass -- The Buccaneers and Trailblazers met for their conference doubleheader on Wednesday in a makeup from Saturday when they were snowed out. With snowflakes flying, the Trailblazers got the best of the Bucs winning game one 7-5 and game two, 11-3.

How It Happened
The Buccaneers jumped out to an early lead, getting their first run in the top of the first inning on a Holler double that brought in Burton to score.
In the top of the second, the Buccaneers scored three more times to take a 4-0 lead. Kerecz doubled in Butler, Burton grounded out with Warren at third, who came in to score. Booker singled in Kerecz for the third run of the inning.
In the bottom of the fourth, MCLA put a run on the board on a sacrifice fly by Staffier to make the score 4-1 Bucs after four.
The wheels came off for Maritime in the bottom of the fifth with MCLA plating five runs to take a two-run, 6-4 advantage through five.
The Trailblazers added a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend their lead to 7-4.
The Buccaneers bats went cold, and they were unable to close the gap, losing game one by the same 7-4 score.

How it Happened
The Buccaneers scored in the top of the first in game two, as they did in game one, on a Booker single that brought in Kerecz. In the bottom of the first, MCLA took it to the Bucs, scoring eight runs in the inning and led 8-1 after one.
After a scoreless second, the Bucs got a run back on an error that allowed Burton to score. The Trailblazers for the run back in the bottom of the frame on a Wheeler double that scored Deacon. MCLA led, 9-2, after three.
In the top of the fifth, the Buccaneers chipped away again, scoring once more on a Klemp single up the middle to bring in McDonald. But, in the bottom of the fifth, Espel homered and Teta singled in Wheeler to give the Trailblazers the 11-3 mercy-rule win in game two.

The Buccaneers come back home on Saturday for a conference doubleheader with Salem State beginning at 1pm.
