Sim Set to be Buccaneers Volleyball Head Coach
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- Director of Athletics Mike Kelley announced this week that Jennifer Sim has been selected as the next head coach of the Buccaneers volleyball program.
A veteran coach, program builder, and learning leader, Sim brings over 15 years of experience developing athletes and programs across the youth, high school, and club volleyball landscape.
A former competitive beach player, Sim transitioned her passion for the game into building volleyball opportunities in her community—serving as a tournament director, club director, and head coach in both school-based and competitive club settings. Most recently, she was named South County Volleyball's Head Volleyball Coach of the Year in 2023 for her work in player development and program impact.
In addition to her extensive coaching background, Sim is a learning experience expert. Her expertise in performance analysis, mentoring, and team development translates directly to the Academy's commitment to cultivating leadership both on and off the court.
A longtime supporter of Buccaneer volleyball and parent of a former cadet-athlete, Sim brings a unique perspective to the program. "I've seen firsthand how this team helps shape women into confident leaders and resilient teammates," she said. "It's an honor to carry that legacy forward and build a program rooted in discipline, development, and pride."
Sim will lead the Buccaneers into the upcoming season alongside the returning assistant coaching staff, whose continuity provides valuable stability and institutional knowledge. Joining the staff this year is Marlo Stark, a seasoned defensive specialist whose expertise will further strengthen the team's technical training.
"We are excited to have Coach Sim on the sideline for 2025 and many years to come." Said AD Mike Kelley. "Her experience and knowledge of the game, as well as her knowledge of the Academy and its volleyball program, will certainly continue moving the program in the direction it has been moving for the past two years."
The Buccaneers begin their 2025 campaign on Saturday, September 6th, with a tri-match at Mitchell College against the Mariners and Mount Saint Vincent.
