Sanders Reaches 200 Dig Mark in 3-1 Loss to Curry

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- The Buccaneers hosted Curry College on Thursday night. The teams battled for four sets, with it eventually going Curry's way, 3-1. In the match, freshman libero Holly Sanders went over the 200 dig mark in her 10th career match. 

 

The Basics

Final: Colonels 3, Buccaneers 1 (25-13, 19-25, 25-19, 25-23)

Records: Maritime 3-7

               Curry 3-6

 

Inside The Numbers

Maritime 

  • Offensively, Natalie Gale led the Buccaneers with seven kills. Hailey Rumlow and Shayla Narodowg each had six.
  • Narodowg led the team in assists with 20 in the loss.
  • Defensively, Holly Sanders recorded a match-high 24 digs and is now at 217 in 10 games as a Buccaneer.
  • Sanders also led the match in aces with four.
  • At the net, Maliah Servino recorded a solo and assisted block, Rumlow, Gale, and Narodowg each had an assist. The Buccaneers recorded 10 blocking errors in the match. 
  • Maritime posted a 0.023 hitting percentage and scored 43 points.

Curry

  • Meghan Abbott, Morgan Kramer, and Emma Hobart led the Colonels on offense with nine kills each.
  • Jasmyn Fillippini had 17 assists to lead Curry in the win.
  • Hobart and Faith Edgehille had three aces each on the serve.
  • Defensively, Kramer had 12 digs, Fillippini and Edgehille had 11, and Sonja Matheson recorded 10.
  • At the net, Hobart had the only solo block. Lauryn Gedeon recorded four block assists.
  • Curry posted a 0.086 hitting percentage with 55 points.
