Maritime Splits Saturday Doubleheader with AMCATS
MARLBOROUGH, Mass -- Following the continuation of Friday's series opener between the Bucs and AMCATS, the teams played a doubleheader in Marlborough. The Buccaneers won the first game of the twinbill, 3-1, behind a solid performance on the hill from Chase Dwight, and dropped the backend, 4-2.

How It Happened
A pitchers' duel broke out between the Bucs and AMCATS in the first game of their doubleheader, following the 27-run marathon from game one of the series, and neither team could break through in the first four innings. Then, in the bottom of the fifth, Aylward hit a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Acuna and giving Anna Maria a 1-0 lead.
In the top of the sixth inning, the Buccaneers answered with two runs to take a 2-1 lead. Kaczynski tripled, driving in Logiudice. Then, McCarthy singled to left field, and Kaczynski scored.
Maritime added a run in the top of the seventh on a Bouffard single to Cetner Field that scored Correia. Dwight completed his complete game in the bottom of the seventh, and the Bucs tied the conference series at a game apiece, and handed the AMCATS their first MASCAC loss of the season.

How It Happened
The Bucs scored a run in the top of the first on an AMCAT error that allowed Logiudice to come in and score. The AMCATS scored a run of their own in the bottom of the inning on Batchelder's double that scored Brady Aylward. The game was tied 1-1 after one.
In the top of the second, Thomas singled through the left side, bringing in Heine to give the Bucs a 2-1 advantage. The AMCATS again answered immediately in the bottom of the inning on a single by Acuna that drove in Aidan Landers. The game was tied once again, 2-2.
The pitchers controlled the middle innings with both teams unable to score from the third through the fifth. In the bottom of the sixth, Acuna singled with the bases loaded, bringing in Justin Chiulli and Douglas, giving Anna Maria a 4-2 lead.
The Buccaneers went down in order against O'Hara in the top of the seventh, and the AMCATS won game two of the doubleheader, 4-2, splitting the day and winning the conference series over the Bucs, 2-1.
